The battle is finished after the specified number of turns have been completed for both sides. Victory points are tallied up and compared for both sides. Certain maps/starting positions are biased towards one side or the other, requiring one side to score significantly more victory points than the other to win.

Awards are given to the victor, and both sides earn a variety of special reward points that can be used in future battles for customized flagships and more.  The game keeps track of how many games you have won or lost for each map in your namesake officer's records.

If the finished battle was part of the "Save the Admiral" campaign, you return to the STA menu again to see how that battle helped (or sometimes hurt) your progress in the campaign.

Upload and view scores on the Internet High Scores pages.  Each time you post a new score, earn a few command points as a reward.  View your scores along side other LAR players online, and even check out what kind of officer profiles and accomplishments players have made recently.
